Cookie Policy
This policy explains how Popaz Co. ("we") uses cookies and similar browser storage on Kickoff Calendar (https://kickoff.guide, the "Service"). For broader detail on how we handle personal data, see the Privacy Policy; for usage terms, see the Terms of Service.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file your browser stores when you visit a website — used for things like keeping you signed in or remembering preferences. In this policy "cookies" also covers similar technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage.
2. Cookies we use
2-1. Strictly necessary (cannot be disabled)
These first-party cookies / storage entries are required for core Service functions: magic-link sign-in, session continuity, CSRF protection, and remembering your theme / language. Disabling them breaks the Service.
2-2. Functional (optional)
- Theme preference (System / Light / Dark)
- Language preference (English / Japanese)
- AI chat usage counter for free / unauthenticated users (kept in localStorage)
These live in localStorage and are used only to personalize your in-product experience.
2-3. Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate usage of the Service. GA4 sets cookies to collect anonymous statistics — visit counts, page views, device categories — which we use only to gauge usage and improve the product. We do not use GA4 to identify individual users. For Google's handling of these cookies, please refer to the Google Privacy Policy.
You can disable GA4 collection through the on-site cookie banner, through your browser settings, or with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
2-4. Third-party cookies
Beyond GA4, some other third-party services we use may set their own cookies. These are governed by the respective providers' privacy policies. Specific vendor names will be disclosed promptly on request.
3. Cookie consent banner
We show a cookie consent banner to first-time visitors. You can choose "Necessary only" or "Allow all". Your choice is recorded in localStorage for 12 months and you can revisit it at any time from the footer.
Choosing "Necessary only" disables analytics cookies (such as GA4) and leaves only the strictly-necessary cookies running.
4. Managing cookies
You can accept or refuse cookies at any time via your browser settings. Documentation for the major browsers:
Note that disabling strictly-necessary cookies will break sign-in and prevent your preferences from being saved.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as our service evolves or as regulations change. Material changes will be announced on the Service.
6. Contact
For questions about this policy, please use the contact page. For company / business details, see the Specified Commercial Transactions Act notice (Japanese only — required for Japan).
